Proof in Zechariah That Jesus Christ is the Word and the one Lord God Almighty

Throughout the Old and Testament God continously tells His chosen people who He is (Deuteronomy 6:4, Luke 2:11). God also speaks out of heaven and tells us his Highest and most exalted Name (Acts 4:12, 9:5). Jesus Christ is both the only Saviour and Almighty God (Isaiah 43:10-12, Revelation 1:8).

Old Testament: They pierced God
Zechariah 12:10. And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.

My Statement: There is no question that Jesus is Jehovah. In that day, the Jews will realize that Jesus is the Messias, The Christ, and they will mourn for him. This is proof that Jesus is the God who was also the slain Lamb.

New Testament: They pierced Jesus
John 19:34-37. Verse. 34. But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.

35. And he that saw it bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe.

36. For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken.

37. And again another scripture saith, They shall look on him whom they pierced.

Note: They pierced the Only God of heaven and earth and his name is Jesus Christ.

Old Testament: The Lord is my God
Zechariah 13:9 And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The Lord is my God.

New Testament: Jesus is the Lord and my God
John 20:28. And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.

Acts 2:36. Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified both Lord and Christ.

Acts 10:34-37. Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:

35. But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness is accepted with him.

36. The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ (he is Lord of all:)

Old Testament: The Lord shall be King
Zechariah 14:9. And the Lord shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one Lord, and his name one.
Note: God is King and his one name is Jesus Christ.

New Testament: Jesus is the King
John 19:19-22. 19. And Pilate wrote a title, and put it on the cross. And the writing was, JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS.

20. This title then read many of the Jews: for the place where Jesus was crucified was nigh to the city: and it was written in Hebrew, and Greek, and Latin.

21. Then said the chief priests of the Jews to Pilate, Write not, The King of the Jews; but that he said, I am King of the Jews.

22. Pilate answered, What I have written I have written. I Timothy 6:14-15. 14. That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:

15. Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and the Lord of lords.

Note: Jesus Christ is the one name of God who is the King of glory.
Revelation 19:16. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

Old Testament: God shall come with the saints
Zechariah 14:3, 4, 5, 9, 12.

3. Then shall the Lord go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.

4. And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east……….

5. And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah; and the Lord my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.

9. And the Lord shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one Lord, and his name one.

12, And this shall be the plague wherewith the Lord will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth.

My Comment: This is another proof positive scripture that Jesus is God and will descend down to earth to fight the battle against the nations who raise up against Israel.

Note: “That One name is Jesus Christ - Acts 9:5.”

Note: We are at this very moment close to seeing the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ who is Jehovah Saviour (Isaiah 43:10-12).

New Testament: Jesus will come with the saints
Matthew 25:31. When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:

I Thessalonians 3:13. To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.

I Thessalonians 4:16. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first.

Note: Jesus is the God himself and God shall return

Titus 2:13. Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.
