In the book of Romans, Paul explains the mystery of Jesus Christ

Romans 11:25

“For I would not, brethren that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.”

Comments:

Paul wanted the Gentile brothers not to be ignorant of the mystery of Jesus Christ. He wanted them to know Jesus as the Messiah, the God of the Universe, who was promised to the Jews. He also wanted them to know that because they had this knowledge, there was no reason for them to go around bragging that they knew more than the Jews or that they were any better because of their knowledge of Christ.

The Jews didn’t recognized the Messiah because they were blind. And because of their blindness the Gentiles were allowed to be grafted in – don’t think that you are better than the Jews. God will keep his promise concerning the Jews after the Gentiles have had an opportunity to be saved. Make no mistake about it, God will bring salvation to the Jews and he will bring salvation to the Gentiles who are grafted in.

Romans 16:25-27

“25th Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began.

26th But now is made manifest and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:

27th To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ forever. Amen.  I Corinthians 2:7

Comments:

Paul was teaching the Roman brethren that there would be people who would teach doctrine contrary to what he was teaching them concerning the Deity of Christ. There would be teachers who wouldn’t know Jesus and they would not recognize Jesus as God nor the methods of our doctrine of repentance, being baptized in Jesus name and receiving the Holy Ghost (Acts 2:38).

Today, preachers won’t preach the gospel of Christ and the oneness of God because there might be a fear that they might lose the income from their churches. For example, some preachers might feel that people would get offended and leave if they heard the truth about Jesus being God, and that they must be baptized in Jesus name and receive the Holy Spirit. Therefore these preachers would preach great sermons and teach a form of the gospel. Followers will believe in these unlearned and unbelieving preachers because they will not search the scriptures for themselves.

They would prefer to remain luke warm and ignorant of the God’s Word. Paul taught the Gentiles that God has the power to establish them in the gospel according to their belief in the revelation of Jesus Christ. Paul’s teachings were understood to reveal that Jesus was God in the flesh, the blessed Messiah, the Christ, who was promised would come for the salvation of mankind according to the Old Testament scriptures.

Paul had to teach the Gentiles from a Jewish perspective, the oneness of God, so that they would not be deceived into believing in a doctrine of more than one God according to the paganistic beliefs of that day.

Paul wanted the saints to avoid anyone who did not believe in the fullness of God in Jesus Christ. The Mystery that the name, Jesus Christ, would be God himself, has been kept secret since the beginning of the world. Jesus Christ, God himself, has been seen in the flesh for all nations to see according to what he told the prophets in the Old Testament scriptures. The fullness of the only wise God is in the body of Jesus Christ (Isaiah 53, John 1:1-14, II Corinthians 5:19, Colossians 1:19, 2:8-10).
