Understanding and Reconciling the Dual Nature of Jesus Christ

When reading the scriptures, try to understand how Jesus is using his words. Is he speaking as Man, is he speaking as God, or is he speaking as both God and Man. All Christendom realize that Jesus is the Son but they have a problem with Jesus being the everlasting Father – God Almighty (Isaiah 9:6, Revelation 1:8).

Think about this question. Are sins forgiven by man or by God? (Mark 2:5-7). This question has an answer that is understood, by most faiths, to believe that only God can forgive sins. When Jesus forgave
sins, he was demonstrating that he is God. In other words, he was showing his dual nature, he was in the flesh as man but in action, he was proving that he is God. Jesus is proving that he is infinite and finite at the same time. God is infinite, however, he begot himself a finite body for the purpose of salvation.

Let’s look at infinite and finite in relation to the nature of Jesus. Webster's New World Dictionary, Third College Edition, page 508,692

Finite means - anything that has measurable limits; capable of being reached, completed, or surpassed by counting.

Infinite means - lacking limits or bounds; extending beyond measure or comprehension; without beginning or end; endless.

Jesus is the only man in all creation who has had a dual nature. God has always remained One God throughout all his manifestations. At no time did God cease being One God. For Jesus has said "I and my Father are One.” This statement means Jesus and God are the same God (John 10:30). This revelatory statement proves that Jesus Christ is God and God is one. We know, as saints of God, that God is One and he will come back in a glorified body and that body will be the body of Christ. Look at these scriptures concerning the dual nature of Jesus;

Humanity (Jesus) - Deity (God-Jesus)

Man Servant - Philippians 2:7 - Lord & God - John 20:28

Son - Matt: 1:21-23 - The Almighty - Rev 1:8, 11

Flesh - John: 1:14 - Everlasting Father - Isaiah 9:6, John 14:9

Jesus the Creator - John 1:10 - God the Creator (Genesis 1:1)

When you read the new testament, look at how Jesus is speaking. Is he speaking as the Father (Deity) or is he speaking as the Son on earth? When Jesus forgives sins, he speaks as God. When he is hungry, sleeps, and doesn’t answer Deity questions, he speaks and acts as a man. When he calms the seas, he speaks as God.

On all these occasions, Jesus is speaking with a dual nature. In other words, Jesus is all God and all Man at the same time. Therefore, we must understand when he's speaking as God and when he is speaking as a Man to understand what he means at that time. In our own minds we have to come to terms with our own human logic concerning the dual nature of God because we don’t have anything to compare with the nature of God. Since this is a complex issue, the question will come to our minds; how do we reconcile the dual nature of Christ using the scriptures?

"RECONCILING THE DUAL NATURE OF JESUS IN THE OLD & NEW TESTAMENTS (Who is Jesus?)"

The whole purpose of this reconciliation is to show that Jesus Christ is the same God whether he was speaking to the prophets in the Old Testament or teaching the doctrine of Christ to the apostles in the New Testament.

The mystery of the gospel as delivered to the saints can be understood by reviewing the following scriptures in light of our new knowledge of Christ and who he is. These scriptures show how the promises to the Jewish nation were fulfilled by the arrival of the Messiah – Jesus Christ – God himself – The Lord – The manifestation of God (Deut.6:4, Luke 2:11, I Timothy 3:16).

These scriptures will answer the age old question, Who is Jesus? "WHO IS JESUS?"

PERMIT ME TO INTRODUCE YOU TO " OUR LORD AND SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST "

How many scriptures would we need to become a believer that Jesus Christ is the only God? One (1) or 10 thousand (10,000)? Let me help you. If God says something once, that makes it so.

The preceding scriptures are condensed so you can get the full ramifications of the mystery of Christ in light of the New Testament.

With these scriptures you will see how the Spirit or Deity of God is used and its relationship to the Flesh of Jesus Christ Our Lord. However, to help you get a clearer picture of who God is; you must understand the Deity of Christ to understand the mystery of God.
