Paul explains the mystery of Jesus Christ in Colossians 1;25-27, 2:2-3

Colossians 1: 25-27, 2:2-3

25th Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;

26th Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints.

27th To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ: in you, the hope of glory.

2:2 That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of the understanding, to the acknowledgment of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;

2:3 In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

Comments:

Paul who had a full understanding of the mystery of God, and that Jesus Christ created all things. This same knowledge has been hidden from the world but is now being taught to the saints who would be persecuted for the name and gospel of Christ. The saints had the assurance that they had a complete understanding of the mystery of Jesus Christ.

Let’s take a look at how the gospel is written. In Colossians 1:27. Paul explains that God has made the mystery known to the Gentiles and that mystery is Christ which is in you. Therefore, we learn that the Spirit of God is the Christ that’s in you. Once you understand that Jesus Christ is God and the Spirit within you, then you would understand the mystery because the foundation of the mystery is Christ. The Spirit of Christ is God. Therefore, the name of the Holy Spirit is Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:19, Acts 2:38).

Let’s look at Colossians 2:2. In this part, the acknowledgment of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ. It seems in this section that there are gods/three persons. (1) mystery of God (2) mystery of the Father (3) mystery of Christ. We know that there is one God and that this scripture is talking about Christ who is God the Father. This is the revelation as understood by Paul.

Paul tells us in Colossians 2:8-10 that we should be careful because men would try to deceive us with philosophy and traditions, but we know that the fullness of God is in the body of Christ.

In Christ are all the hidden treasures of wisdom and knowledge. He is the God who is head over all principalities and powers and there is none like him (Colossians 1:13-19).
