Proof in II Corinthians that Jesus Christ is the one Lord God Almighty (I Timothy 3:16)

God has reiterated over and over again that He is one Lord, one God, and one Person (Deuteronomy 6:4, Isaiah 44:6-8, Joh 13:6-11, Hebrews 1:3).  God has spoken but in our Christian churches today we are trying to prove that God is wrong and that He is three persons.   God never said it.

The reason that one doesn't undertand the Trinity nor the Trinitarian doctrine is because it's not in the Bible. God never said He is three persons.  The three personage of God is an assumption that is made by reading certain scriptures in the New Testament.  The Trinity and the three persons of God is an assumption, not fact.

Today's Christians are blinded by their traditions and their unbelief in what God has said from the beginning of time, I'm one Lord, one God, and one Person.  We should believe God so that things will go well with us. God is absolutely one Lord, one God, and one Person and His name is Jesus Christ (Isaiah 9:6, John 14:9, John 1:10, Revelation 1:8).

II Corinthians 1:2-3

Verse 2. Grace be to you and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

Translation: Verse 2. Grace be to you and peace from God who is our Father in his Spirit form even from his manifestation in the flesh - the Lord Jesus Christ.

Verse 3. Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort.

Translation: Verse 3. Blessed be God, even the Spiritual Father of the fleshly manifestation of himself – Our Lord Jesus Christ who is the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort.

II Corinthians 3:13-18

The children of Israel will be blinded until they turn to the Lord Jesus Christ. My heart hurts when I think of these wonderful Jewish people who don’t know their own “Messiah.” I ask that you pray for the nation of Israel and that God will bless their land, and that he will open their hearts to understand his love for them. Pray that they will see the revelation of the King of Israel, their God, and Saviour, Jesus Christ ( Acts 10:36, I Corinthians 10:1-4). The gospel and the knowledge of Jesus Christ is hid to the Jews and the nation of Israel.

II Corinthians 4:3-6

Gospel and knowledge of Jesus Christ is hid to the lost. The Lord tells us in the aforementioned scripture (II Corinthians 3:13-18) that the children of Israel cannot see him because of the veil. Likewise, the Gentiles cannot see the mystery of Jesus because of unbelief. I am really concerned about the ones who choose not to see or cannot see the gospel and mystery of Christ; for the scriptures tell us, they are lost. You must understand that there is one person in the Godhead and God has given us the understanding of the knowledge and mystery of Christ. The knowledge of the glory of God is seen in the face of “one person,” Jesus Christ and we are complete in him (Colossians 2:10). I would like to admonish you to prayerfully search the scriptures with all your heart and soul and the Lord will reveal himself to you. Then go to Acts 2:38 and follow the directions that were given to Peter and the apostles by our Lord Jesus Christ. The importance of the gospel message is that God was in Christ.

II Corinthians 5:19

To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself. There is a church that I know of called “The Church of God in Christ.” This name, I feel, was given to the Church founders by God because this name is the revelation of the Deity of God and that Christ is the fleshly body of God. This name is a wonderful revelation of the power and glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

The revelation of the name of Jesus (God in Christ) is the foundation of this whole book. God was in Christ; for God has said, this is my beloved Son in whom, I am well pleased (Matthew 3:17, 17:5, Mark 1:11, II Peter 1:17). Jesus said, if you had known me, you should have known the Father because the Father is in him and if we see him, we have seen the Father (John 14:6-11). Look at Colossians 1:14-19 and 2:9. Again, we see that God is in the body of Christ. All scriptures will verify that God was in the body of Christ and will line up and agree in both the Old and New Testaments. Jesus is God (Lord). There is no other God; for God doesn’t know of any other God, save himself (Isaiah 43:11-13, 44:8). If I were to name a Church that would tell the story of this book and who Jesus is, it would be “The Church of God in Christ.” This is a fantastic name for a church. And if there is unbelief in this gospel message of “God in Christ” then we as Christians, should not be unequally yoked with unbelievers.

II Corinthians 6:14-16

Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers. The Lord admonishes us to stay away from unbelievers. If there are people who profess the Lord and yet don’t believe that Jesus is God (the Christ) they are none of us. Look at verse 16. God shows us that he dwells in us and he would be our God. Guess what? God’s name is Jesus Christ because Jesus is the one who dwells in us and we are his people and he is our God and the Rock of our Salvation. There is only one God and his name is Jesus Christ. This is another scripture that is a proclamation of that fact. Search the scriptures for in them, you think you have eternal life. You will think that you believe in One God and you won’t know him as the Lord Jesus Christ. Thus you won’t get washed in his blood which is one of the main tenants of salvation; the baptism in Jesus name (I Peter 3:21, Acts 2:38, Acts 19:1-5, Romans 6:3-4, Galatians 3:27, Colossians 2:12). Be on guard because Satan will present false teachers, with glowing speeches, who will call themselves followers of Christ and they are not.

II Corinthians 11:12-15

False teachers who call themselves followers of Christ. It is not always easy to recognize false teachers. These teachers call themselves followers of Christ and they are not. The following are some guidelines to recognize false teachers; (II Peter 2:1).

1. False teachers don’t believe Jesus is God the Father (Isaiah 9:6, John 14:9).

2. False teachers don’t believe Jesus is the only true God (The Christ and the One Lord – Ephesians 4:5, I John 5:20, Titus 1:16).

3. False teachers don’t believe that Jesus is the Jehovah who spoke to the prophets in the Old Testament (Jehovah Saviour - Isaiah 43:10-12) (Acts 10:36, I Corinthians 10:4, Ephesians 4:5).

4. False teachers don’t believe it is necessary to be baptized in Jesus name as directed by the apostles. Some believe that you don’t have to be baptized at all (Acts 2:38).

5. False teachers baptize in the titles of God mentioned in Matthew 28:19, Titus 1:16.

6. False teachers don’t teach repentance and baptism in Jesus Name  They say, you only have to confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and you are saved without understanding the context. Paul was talking to the brethren, not sinners.  This phrase is not according to Acts 2:38.

7. False teachers will speak/teach against the baptism in Jesus name, which is the only water baptism in the book of Acts.

8. False teachers boast of their accomplishments and their desire for the riches of this world, using the gospel of Christ to satisfy their lusts (Titus 1:10-16).

9. False teachers will try to control the mind and hearts of God’s people so that the people will glorify them (the false teacher) rather than Christ (II Timothy 4:3)

10. False teachers will preach against Jesus being the only God. They don’t believe Jesus is God - the Christ (that preacher is an antichrist, I John 2:22-23). The fullness of the Godhead is in Jesus Christ. (John 1:10, 14, II Corinthians 5:19, Colossians 2:8-9)

11. False teachers don’t believe in the reception of the Holy Spirit and speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance (Acts 2:1-6)

12. False teachers cannot understand the mystery of the gospel because it is hid from them (II Corinthians 4:3-6, I John 5:20).

Today these false teachers and preachers will persecute the real child of God just as they persecuted Jesus, Paul and the apostles. Paul suffered in the flesh for Christ and in their persecution of Paul, they thought they were doing God a favor.

II Corinthians 12:6-9

Paul suffered in the flesh for Christ. Paul’s Hebrew name was Saul, in honor of King Saul, who was of the tribe of Benjamin. Saul was born at the beginning of the first century. He was born in the Graeco-Roman city of Tarsus located near the Mediterranean Sea. Saul was unique in that he had a Hebrew religion, a Greek culture, and a Roman citizenship. However, Saul was never ashamed to admit that he was Jewish. As a matter of fact, he was proud of his Jewish background. Saul was a very educated man who studied under the famous teacher, Gamaliel, who was considered one of the greatest teachers at that time.

Paul had a superior knowledge of the Old Testament and he studied the rabbinical teachings of highly educated and respected scholars of his day. Paul could have told the people that he was highly educated, he studied under Gamaliel, and that he had a revelation of God, of which, they were not privy. However, Paul didn’t want to make a fool of himself because he could tell the truth about his education and people would start looking at him like he was the person that they should look up to. Paul certainly didn’t want that to happen. God had given Paul so many revelations about himself that Paul could have boasted about how good he was and that he knew all of these things about God because of his wisdom and education.

God knows our flesh and how wicked it is, therefore, God allowed Satan to afflict Paul in the flesh. The Lord had given Paul the knowledge and mystery of Jesus Christ and Paul knew that Jesus was God in the flesh. God had given Paul the revelation that the same God who talked to the prophets in the Old Testament was the same God who talked to him on Damascus road (Acts 9:3-7, I Corinthians 10:4). However, this same God didn’t want Paul to get besides himself and think more of himself than he ought. Therefore, Paul had a constant reminder of his weakness, in the flesh, so that he would be dependent on God’s grace. This revelation was not for Paul to show how great he was but this revelation was to show the greatness of Christ.

I believe, Paul felt that he could handle all this wisdom, knowledge and revelations that God had bestowed upon him. That’s why, I believe, Paul asked the Lord three times to take away the thorn in his flesh. However, once God told Paul his grace was sufficient, Paul never returned to God to ask him about his condition. Therefore, think it not strange that God would put restraints on any individual who has great revelations about the Deity of Jesus Christ. We should not think more of ourselves than we ought. Just because we have the revelation, knowledge, and mystery of God, we are to carry ourselves in such a way that we can walk in the love of Jesus Christ. Our purpose is to take the revelation and true gospel of Jesus Christ to a dying world.

Paul had a special mission and that mission was to be a light to the Gentiles. God didn’t want Paul to boast about how great he was. Paul was to boast about the greatness and power of God through Christ. Paul was to teach the goodness and mercy of God to the Gentiles through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Paul was to let them understand that they too could be saved through the power of God.

After his conversion, Paul was designated by God to bring the gospel to the Gentiles. God knew that Paul had to suffer for his name and he allowed Paul to go through his sufferings in the flesh so that God could be glorified and so that Paul could see God’s grace and love for him and the work that God called him to do. In Galatians, Paul continues his teachings about the Deity of Christ and the mystery of the gospel.
