Book of Isaiah: Proof that Jesus Christ is the one Lord God Almighty

Old Testament: Jehovah is God and his Name is Immanuel.
Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
Isaiah 9:6. For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

New Testament: Jesus is God and his Name is Emmanuel
Matthew 1:21-23. 21. And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins. 22. Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Verse 23. Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

Old Testament: God is the Father
Isaiah 9:6. 6. For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

New Testament: Jesus is the Father
John 14:7-10. If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him and have seen him. 8. Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. 9. Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father. 10. Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. Jesus explains his dual nature. He explains to Philip that he doesn’t speak out of his flesh but out of his Spirit which is the Father within his body (Colossians 1:14-19, 2:9).

Old Testament: God the Creator
Isaiah 40:28. Hast thou not known? Hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? There is no searching of his understanding.

Isaiah 44:24. Thus saith the Lord, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the Lord that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself.

Isaiah 45:18. I have made the earth, and created man upon it: I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens, and all their host have I commanded.

New Testament: Jesus the Creator
Colossians 1:13-20. 13. Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: 14. In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: 15. Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: 16. For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17. And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. 18. And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have preeminence. 19. For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell; 20. And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

Old Testament: God is “I am he.”
Isaiah 41:4. Who hath wrought and done it, calling the generations from the beginning? I the Lord, the first, and with the last; I am he.

Isaiah 43:10-13. 10.Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen; that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. 11. I even I, am the Lord; and beside me there is no saviour. 12. I have declared, and have saved, and I have shewed, when there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, that I am God. 13. Yea, before the day was I am he; and there is none that can deliver out of my hand: I will work, and who shall let it? Jesus is the Lord and the only Saviour (John 8:24).

Isaiah 43:25. I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.

New Testament: Jesus is “I am he”
John 4:25-26. 25. The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things. 26. Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.

John 8:23-24. 23. And he said unto them, ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world. 24. I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins. Note: This is a strong warning to those who don’t believe that Jesus is God.

John 18:5-8. 5. They answered him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus saith unto them, I am he. And Judas also, which betrayed him, stood with them. 6. As soon then as he had said unto them, I am he, they went backward, and fell to the ground. 7. Then asked he them again, Whom seek ye? And they said, Jesus of Nazareth. 8. Jesus answered, I have told you that I am he: if therefore ye seek me, let these go their way:

Old Testament: God is the Lord.
Isaiah 40:3, 5. 3. The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make straight in the desert a highway for our God. 5. And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.
Note: This scripture tells us that Jesus is the one Lord and he is also God himself. (I John 1:1-2).

New Testament: Jesus is the Lord
Matthew 3:3. For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

John 1:29. The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
Note: John recognizes Jesus as the Lord, The Christ, the Lamb of God, and God himself.

Old Testament: The First and Last is God.
Isaiah 41:4. Who hath wrought and done it, calling the generations from the beginning? I the Lord, the first, and with the last; I am he.

Isaiah 44:6-8. 6. Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God. 7. And who, as I, shall call, and shall declare it, and set it in order for me, since I appointed the ancient people? And the things that are coming, and shall come, let them shew unto them. 8. Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from the time, and have declared it? Ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? Yea, there is no God; I know not any.

Isaiah 48:12. Hearken unto me, O Jacob and Israel, my called: I am he, I am the first, I also am the last.

New Testament: Jesus is the First and Last.
Revelation 1: 10-11, 17, 18. 10. I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet. 11. Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: 17. And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, fear not; I am the first and the last: 18. I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

Revelation 22:12-13. 12. And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. 13. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and last. Jesus declares that he is God, the first and last. We understand that the red letters in the Bible are Jesus’ spoken words. Look at this: Jesus is saying, he is God because only God can say, I am first and last.

Old Testament: God is our redeemer
Isaiah 41:14. Fear not, thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith the Lord, and thy redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.

New Testament: Jesus is our redeemer
Luke 1:68. Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people. Jesus is the Lord God of Israel who has visited his people. The scriptures makes it so plain that Jesus is the Only Lord God of heaven and earth.

Old Testament: The Name of God is the Lord
Isaiah 42:8. I am the Lord: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images. Isaiah 43:15. I am the Lord, your Holy One, the creator of Israel, your King. Isaiah 44:24. Thus saith the Lord, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the Lord that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself.

New Testament: The Name of Jesus is the Lord.
Matthew 3:3. For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

Luke 1:43. And whence is this to me that the mother of my Lord should come to me.

Matthew 4:5-7. Jesus calls himself the Lord God. Satan tempts Jesus. 5. Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple. 6. And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash they foot against a stone. 7. Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. Jesus told Satan he should not tempt him because he is God.

Old Testament: God is our Saviour.
Isaiah 43: 3, 11-13. Verse 3. For I am the Lord thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee. Verse 11. I, even I, am the Lord; and beside me there is no saviour. Verse 12. I have declared, and have saved, and I have shewed, when there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, that I am God. Verse 13. Yea, before the day was I am he; and there is none that can deliver out of my hand: I will work, and who shall let it?

Isaiah 45:21. Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? Who hath told it from the time? Have not I the Lord? And there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me. If God is the Saviour and there is no other, then who is Jesus? Isaiah 49:26 And I will feed them that oppress thee with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine: and all flesh shall know that I the Lord am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.

Isaiah 49:26. And I will feed them that oppress thee with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine: and all flesh shall know that I the Lord am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.

New Testament: Jesus is the Saviour
Matthew 1:21. And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins.

Luke 1:46-47. And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, 47. And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.

Luke 2:11. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

I John 4:14. And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world. Luke 2:11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

John 4:42. And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.

Philippians 3:20. 20. For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:

Note: This scripture tells us that we should look to heaven for our Saviour. There is only one Saviour in heaven. And God who is in heaven, is also Jesus Christ our Saviour.

I Timothy 4:10. For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe. This scripture shows us that not only is Jesus God, he is also our Saviour.

Titus 1:2-4. 2. In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began; 3. But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour; 4. To Titus, mine own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour. In verse 3, Paul tells Titus that God is our Saviour and in verse 4, Paul tells Titus that Jesus is our Saviour. Therefore, Jesus is the only God and he is also our Saviour.

Titus 2:10, 13. Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things. 13. Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

Note: In verse 13 of this scripture Paul assures Titus that Jesus Christ is both God and our Saviour. There is only One God and Saviour and his name is Jesus Christ. Remember God’s admonishment. Hear O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord.

Jude 1:25. To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

Note: Without question, Jesus Christ is the only wise God and Saviour. The Jews were right, there is only one God and his name is our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. If one would believe in the oneness of God, they cannot go wrong. The name of Jesus Christ is the personification of the oneness of God, the rock and foundation of our salvation.

Old Testament: God is the Holy One.
Isaiah 43:15. I am the Lord, your Holy One, the creator of Israel, your King.

New Testament: Jesus is the Holy One.
Acts 3:14. But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you;

Old Testament: The Lord is the first and Last
Isaiah 44:6. Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.

New Testament: Jesus is the first and Last
Revelation 1:10, 11. I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet, Verse 11. Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last:

Revelation 22:12, 13, 14. Verse 12. And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. Verse 13. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and last. Verse 14. Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates to the city.

Old Testament: God is King of Israel
Isaiah 44:6. Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts;

New Testament: Jesus is King of Israel
John 1:49. Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel.

Old Testament: Every knee shall bow to God
Isaiah 45:22-23. 22. Look unto me, and be ye saved all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else. 23. I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear. God is saying that every knee will bow to him. God will reveal himself as Jesus Christ in the New Testament. (Philippians 2:10-11).

New Testament: Every knee shall bow to Jesus
Philippians 2:10-11. 10. That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11. And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Note: Every knee shall bow to Jesus and we will know that he is God. Also, every tongue will confess that Jesus is the One Lord God Almighty.
