Matthew 13:11, 16, 17
11th “He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
16th But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.
17th For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.
16th But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.
17th For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.

The Bible is full of mysteries which are known only by followers of Christ who are sincerely interested in salvation. People today will look in the scriptures and see what it takes to be saved and they will hear Apostolic evangelists preach about what’s needed to be saved. And they still won’t see nor hear salvation preached according to Peter’s directions (Acts 2:38). They can’t see what it takes for salvation. They won’t repent, nor will they get baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for remission of sins and receive the Holy Spirit because they will not or cannot see it. They will say, Peter said to be baptized in Jesus name but Jesus said to be baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost (Matthew 28:19).
Therefore, they say, I’m going to follow what Jesus said. How foolish to think that the Bible would contradict itself. They won’t search the scriptures to understand the importance of being baptized in the one baptism in Jesus name (Ephesians 4:5). Their minds have been blinded by the spirit of darkness of this world. They don’t believe the power and essence of Jesus’ name. Salvation is clearly explained in the scriptures yet unbelievers can’t see it.
The Prophets wished they could have seen God, Jesus, when he came to earth in the flesh and they wished they could have talked with him in his manifestation as a man. Jesus was letting the apostles know how privileged they were to have God walking and talking with them on a daily basis.
