Luke 8:9-10
9th And his disciples asked him, saying, What might this parable be?
10th And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.

In the preceding scriptures - Matthew 13:11-23, Mark 4:11-20, the Lord relates these stories as it relates to salvation. If one would believe the Word and seek salvation, they will find it. First you must believe, be steadfast and God will reveal his identity so that you will be baptized in the name of Jesus, and receive his Holy Spirit so that you can witness and bring new souls into the knowledge and salvation of Our Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 2:38).
When I look at the way these scriptures are revealed to man, I can see why, it took so many different men - Matthew, Mark, Luke and John to relay the same message. God’s wisdom is so vast that one man couldn’t hold that much wisdom in his head long enough to write it down without leaving out something that was important to God. Therefore, when you read all of the gospels, you will get more of an understanding and a fuller knowledge of God’s message. God lets us know what we can expect to see and experience on our journey to finding out more about the knowledge and mystery of salvation through Jesus Christ
