Jesus explains the mystery and how it works

Matthew 13:11-17

Jesus explains the mystery. Jesus is letting his disciples know that there are things that they would know about the kingdom that others wouldn’t know. One of the mysteries is that the saints knew Jesus was the Christ, but to others, they didn’t know him. They could not understand the oneness of God as it relates to Jesus. Jesus taught the disciples that he is the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, “The Christ.” (Colossians 1:14-19, 2:9). In some cases the apostles didn’t understand and Jesus had to make it clear to them using the scriptures of Moses and Isaiah (Exodus 29:46, Isaiah 42:8, 43:11).

Jesus spoke in parables which they didn’t quite understand. They were seeing and not seeing. How does that relate to today? People are reading the Bible and they can see with their eyes that the Bible says Jesus is the only God/Lord/Christ and yet they don’t see it because of unbelief. Even if we told them Jesus is the only God (Lord), they still wouldn’t hear it because they don’t understand (Isaiah 9:6, Revelation 1:8).

People’s hearts are hard and they are tired of hearing that Jesus is God and their eyes are closed to the knowledge and mystery of Christ. They will be converted if they would believe that Jesus is the Almighty God and see in the Bible what God is saying about the Deity and mystery of Christ ( (John 8:19, 24, 58, II Corinthians 4:3-6).

The prophets wanted to see how God would become flesh but they didn’t get a chance to see it. They would have also wanted to hear the gospel and see how God would save man using the three manifestations of himself. In summary, they didn’t get a chance to see God in the flesh, neither did they get a chance to hear the gospel preached.  Again, the prophets knew the mystery that Jesus Christ would be God, the Everlasting Father (Isaiah 9:6) and they wouldn't get a chance to see Him  (I Timothy 3:16) .
